A day in the life - Lizzy - Customer Happiness Hero
A little over two months ago I started working here at Mustard and oh my goodness what a whirlwind it has been! I knew when I started it was the calm before the storm, it was the lead up to Christmas and it was a really lovely time to be able to settle into life at Mustard. Every day is different, but I am always kept busy! I thought it would be a nice idea to let you see a little of what goes on ‘behind the scenes’ at Mustard UK HQ, as I talk to lots of you every day and sometimes it’s good to put a face to a name!
So, a little introduction first: I’m Lizzy, and I’m the new Customer Happiness Hero here at Mustard! I moved to London a little over 2 years ago and I am currently studying for my degree in the evenings. I’ve loved Mustard lockers since discovering them and was on the hunt for a job I would love when this one seemed to fall into my lap! I had worked in customer service and the brand appealed to me so much (there is nothing I love more than a good colour scheme) so I applied, got the job and have not looked back!
So what do I actually do? Every morning I arrive at the office and the first thing I do is answer any of your emails. My favourite thing is when I see that you are out there loving your lockers + I love seeing photos of them in your homes! All of your lovely messages make this job so worthwhile but I'm also the person who'll help you solve any problems, damages, lost parcels or any other issues. I try my best to get any quick fixes sorted first thing (like sending out lost keys!) and will usually chat with our warehouse team and our UPS account manager Martin to solve all our customers queries and to make sure everyone gets their lockers delivered safely!
Since starting here, one of my favourite little jobs has been making the office look pretty and organised, my best friend is our embossed label maker - honestly give me anything and I will label it! We’re all very jealous of Becca’s beautiful new office in Australia so one night Jess and I stayed back and completely rearranged the office layout, built some more lockers, got rid of some ugly shelves which had been there before and we are so much happier with the new space! We have a lovely line up of Blush and Olive Skinnys and Shortys which keep all of our spare parts, packing materials, info cards and swatches. We keep everything neatly in our baskets inside the lockers, of course!
Having a small team means we all get to do a bunch of different jobs through the month too aside from my day to day tasks. It makes my job more fun to mix it up with photoshoots, trips to our warehouse and over the year there'll be trade shows and events to work on too.
I am loving being part of the little Mustard team, it is so fulfilling to be part of a business with a small team of amazingly inspiring women that I am able to look up to and work alongside every day. I feel incredibly lucky to be part of such an exciting journey and I can’t wait to see what 2020 will hold.
