Fun ways to use The Baskets
The Baskets are one of our favourite ways to level up a locker. They are perfect for organising your storage into neat little sections, holding socks, craft supplies, toys or anything else that doesn’t sit neatly on a shelf.
But that’s not the only way to use baskets, oh no. They are super fun and multi-functional, not just a storage solution! We have come up with some adventurous ways to use The Baskets outside of a locker. When it comes to baskets, it’s a proven fact that you can never have enough!
one. a bed for dolly
For the little ones, a big basket is the perfect size for a dolly or teddy bear friend. They can pop a basket by their bed and tuck them in at night. Sometimes a basket is all you need to spark their imagination! It’s also very, very cute to watch them play mum or dad! If you’re a fan of Olli Ella’s Dinkum Dolls like we are, they are the perfect fit.
Bonus points: It’s a great way of getting your little one to go to bed on time if they can tuck their doll into bed too!
two. the perfect picnic
Take your picnic game to the next level with the prettiest picnic basket! Add in a colour co-ordinated gingham blanket and some delicious looking snacks and you have yourself one seriously instagrammable, seriously tasty spread. The Baskets are great for keeping everything together in the back of the car whilst you travel to your perfect picnic spot (beach for us please!) and the handles on either side make them convenient to carry too.
Bonus points: Give each person their own lovely lunch basket, so sweet for a kids birthday or a garden party!
three. fabulous florals
Vases are out, baskets are in! This idea originally came from the awesome Botanica Bird who created all of the floral arrangements for the launch of Lilac back in early 2021. We love that The Baskets were part of the display and truly on show, rather than hidden like in a traditional arrangement. You can match the colours of the baskets to the flower petals and it creates a beautiful, visually interesting display with an industrial edge. We haven’t looked back since, we love having flowers in baskets!
Bonus points: Using baskets to give a floral display structure means you don’t have to rely on single use floral foam. A win for your tablescape and the planet!
four. handy shoe storage
Baskets don’t just have to go inside lockers, in fact, they were created to be the perfect size to slot neatly underneath. Yep, we thought of everything! One of our favourite ways to use them is for easy-access shoe storage, ‘cos let’s face it, kids shoes rarely ever make it into the shoe cupboard anyway, a basket puts it within easier reach! Have your shoes ready to go under a Skinny by the front door or your slippers waiting neatly next to your bedside Shorty.
Bonus points: This is totally ideal for muddy boots or sand filled shoes after a day at the beach!
five. a game for the whole family
This may look like a little simple, but trust when we say this game will have everyone in the family up and playing! The beauty in this is how easy it is to set up… you can take it anywhere! All you need is some baskets and a ball to throw into them. We’ve also used our Colour Swatches and Wordbits Magnets to give each basket a number of points, or simply assign each coloured basket a number.
Bonus points: It’s the perfect game to transport to the beach, park or if you're going to a friend's place, to keep the kiddies playing!
