Things to hang on your handy hooks!
Mustard Made lockers have lots of little details and hidden secrets that make them pretty on the outside and seriously practical storage on the inside! Perhaps our favourite detail is our handy hooks. You can find handy hooks on the inside of all our locker doors. The Shorty, The Midi and The Lowdown have one hook per door, The Skinny and The Twinny have two hooks per door. That’s a whole lotta hooks!
You’re probably wondering "why are these hooks there? What on earth could I hang on them?" That’s a great question and one we are going to answer for you! Here is a list, although it is by no means exhaustive, of ten things you could hang on your handy hooks!
Hat
Especially cute if it is a hat belonging to the little ones in your life! We find hats are one of those things that don't really have a 'place' and will probably end up in a sock drawer. Not anymore! Whether it is a sun hat or wooly hat, keep it hanging just inside your locker door so you know where to find it next time it hits 30 degrees. Or snows. That part depends on which hemisphere you're in!
Mirror
Open the door of your locker to get ready in the morning and there is already a mirror there to greet you - how convenient is that?! No more going backwards and forwards to the bathroom or dressing table, you can see yourself right there. Don't have a mirror? Say no more, we'll show you how to make one! Check out one of the cutest DIYs on our blog, the Daisy Mirror DIY, for a mirror that is both pretty and practical (which is what we are all about!)
Headphones
Gone are the days of scrambling for a pair of headphones for that zoom call you forgot was scheduled for, ermm... 3 minutes ago! Your headphones have a new home, on a handy hook in you locker, so you'll never forget where they live. You can thank us later!
Necklace
You know the feeling. Getting ready to go out, minutes to spare, pick up a necklace as the *finishing touch* only for it to be knotted with three other necklaces. You know what would stop that from happening? Hanging it on a handy hook. Just sayin'. This super sweet necklace is from Little Vikings, because little kids like accessorising too!
Banner
Ooooh this one might just be our favourite. It is the only item on this list which isn't exactly a practical way to use a handy hook, but oh boy is it cute! A banner is an adorable way to decorate the inside of your locker and put a smile on your face whenever you open it! This one is from Hello Dodo, :)
Face Mask
If you had asked us two years ago to make this list, this one definitely wouldn't be on here. But hey, that's life now! Never lose a mask again (anyone else find they just disappear? They are just as bad as socks!) by keeping them all safe and sound on your handy hooks. You can even match your mask to your locker and be the coolest kid on the block. Please tag us on Instagram if you do this, we would love to see!
Tea Towel
We're big fans of a locker pantry! Kitchen lockers can be so practical and the handy hooks really are the perfect place to keep a tea towel. A lots of tea towels come with a little loop on the back, so it was like they were made to hand inside our lockers! We do this at our tea and coffee station in the office - a coffee machine on an Olive Midi - and can confirm that this is super practical and convenient. Ten out of ten!
Accessories
Sunglasses, scrunchies, little handbags and umbrellas. All of the things that go missing easily or never have their own place. Now they do, it's on a handy hook! Are you the kind of person who plans their outfit for the next day? Pop your accessories on the hook and they'll be all ready for you in morning!
Basket
Ok, so maybe our Baskets are made for locker shelves and not handy hooks. But a small basket or maybe a lil bag is perfect to pop on a door! Then you can keep small bits and pieces in close reach - your collection of scented hand sanitzers, hair bobbles and grips because they ALWAYS go missing. You do you, but we think this idea is great!
Your Keys
This is definitely one we have taken on board! If you have a locker in your hall or by your door, to keep all your shoes and coats safe and sound, hang your house keys on the hook on the door. When you are grabbing your shoes to leave you will see them and remember them. No more being locked out! Definitely not speaking from experience here...
Or, if you don't need to lock your locker and want to keep the locker keys somewhere you won't lose them, that's the spot!
